Merlin’s Suggested Summer Reading List

Finding the right books to read during the summer months can be as thrilling as seeing or touching a manatee like Merlin for the first time.  The Literacy Team wants to help you find a variety of books to enjoy, so we have created lists for each grade level.  The lists of suggested books are for the grade level you will start in August 2007 and have easy thru challenging titles included.  Additional grade level lists can be found on our school website, so you can try out books at your grade level as well as other grade levels.  The important thing to remember is to find books that interest you and that are easily read and understood.  The “5 word rule” will help you decide if the book is a good choice for you.  Finally, we encourage parents to read to their children regardless of the child’s age.  This is a perfect way to create some quality time with your child each day.

             Enjoy a good book today!
